UAE Virtual Work Visa

Discover the 1-year virtual working program offered by Dubai, which enables you to work and live near the beach.

What’s New

Anyone who works remotely can easily become a year-long resident of Dubai with the help of the Virtual Work Visa program. This program is for you whether you’ve always wanted to live in Dubai or if you’re a digital nomad travelling the globe.

Benefits:

– A 1- year visa that permits staying in Dubai
– No requirement for a UAE sponsor
– Utility and service accessibility
– Unlimited travel from and to Dubai
– The capacity to sponsor spouses and kids as well as other family members
– Educational opportunities for dependents

When sponsoring dependents, there will be extra costs involved and possible requirements.

Keep in mind that the Virtual Work Visa does not allow you to work for UAE or Dubai-based businesses; all of your employment must be for non-UAE businesses.

Eligibility:

A Virtual Work Visa is available to individuals of any nationality if they:

– are under contract for a minimum of one year at a non-UAE company.
– possess documentation (such as an employment contract or an employer letter) proving they are capable of working remotely.
– Get a minimum monthly income of US$3,500 (AED12,856), or its equivalent in other currencies.

Certain nationalities’ applicants might also be required to provide more documentation or information, and they might also be required to pay extra costs.

Please be aware that obtaining a virtual work visa does not ensure permanent residence.

Requirment:

Before you begin the application process, be sure you have everything you need. To be eligible to apply, you must submit the following information:

– Validity of the passport should be at least six months (ideally, it should be well over a year to prevent needing to renew it while in Dubai).
– Health insurance valid in the UAE for at least one year – this can be travel insurance as long as it provides the essential coverage.
– Proof of employment from a current employer with a least one-year contract, including a statement indicating your job may be completed remotely.
– Proof of a monthly salary of at least US$3,500 (or equivalent).
– Bank statements and other personal documents (details below).

The process of applying for a Virtual Work Visa varies based on whether you need to pay for a Visit Visa before entering Dubai.

If you can obtain a visa upon arrival, you can apply directly for the Virtual Work Visa residence permit. You can start this process in another country and finish it when you arrive in Dubai, or you can start it all at once.

Documents:

Depending on how you apply for the Virtual Work Visa, you may need to provide somewhat different documentation. Document requirements can change without notice; please check the most recent requirements from GDRFAD or AMER. Also, some candidates may be asked to produce alternative or extra papers after submitting their first application.

In general, all candidates will require the following documents, both in electronic (JPEG) and physical form:

– Passport with at least six months of validity at the time of application.
– Proof of Employment
– Proof of salary.
– Proof of remote working.
– Most recent pay payslip
– Bank statements for the past six months
– Proof of health insurance coverage for the UAE
– Colour passport photo with a white background.

Note that this list only pertains to the primary applicant for a Virtual Work Visa. If you intend to sponsor family members, further documentation will be requested for those applications.
